About MeHello my name is Stephany and I want to share my story. I am a mother of an eleven-year-old non-verbal autistic child. My son is Jovan, and he has helped me completely change my life in every way. Jovan has helped our family become healthier, happier and more united. He has helped us touch other families to help heal one another.
I would not be able to accomplish all I can without Jovan's father Arturo. He is the backbone of our family. He has sacrificed his livelihood so I could grow in my business and he could help heal Jovan. Jovan looks up to his father very much and shares a bond with him. I am very grateful that Arturo does the ketogenic diet with his son, manages his home schooling and all of his therapies that are needed seven days/week. Arturo is our rock. He is devoted a father. Being a team has taken us very far as a family. Love is contagious. I'm a believer that you can heal anything as long as you put your faith into it and you are persistent. I am not a doctor, and I follow my heart and feel that God has guided me this far, and He continues to guide me. Our Jovan has changed everybody he has touched, and we are forever grateful. We will continue on our road to Jovan's recovery. |
My Livelihood
People have said to me, "How can you afford this? The way you eat is really expensive!" Well, yes and no. Let me start off by saying that I usually go to local farmer's markets, which is actually very cost effective. They are not always certified organic, but I have found when I purchase their fruits and vegetables that they will rot within a few days if I don't consume them. Labeling their fruits and veggies is actually a very expensive process for the local farmer. So when I speak to them about how they grow their foods, they explain that is truly is organic, even if it's not labeled. Purchasing at local farmer's markets is a great way to support my community.
I started processing mortgage home loans in 2001 and wasn't health-conscious at all. I actually started this blog because of my clients at work. I found I had something in common with almost all of my clients - daily health problems. During meetings with clients, our conversations always turned toward my children, especially my non-verbal autistic son Jovan. After Jovan was diagnosed with autism in 2009, I began to develop an awareness of my family's health in trying to heal Jovan.
My daily routine at work is to help my clients get pre-approved for their home mortgages and now I'm spreading the word and helping many families to change toward healthy habits. Each and every client always told me, "You should write a blog! I want to know all the information you know!" All the information I know is from years of researching and I have been very blessed to be surrounded by many knowledgeable doctors who have also guided me. I am passionate at work in my job as I help many hopeful home-owners with community down-payment assistance programs (known as DPA programs) which helps lower-income families achieve the dream of home ownership. I have actually began specializing in DPA home mortgage loans and feel honored to be giving back to my community. This job has helped me support my family and has allowed Jovan's father to stay home and care for our boys. We are very fortunate and appreciative.
This process has been such a positive focus on health that even my team at our office has taken an interest in enhancing their own health by detoxing and juicing together as a team that feels more like family.
