Parasites in humans are the root cause of many chronic illnesses, including cancer, fibromyalgia, adrenal fatigue, leaky gut, autism, and lyme, to name a few. Unfortunately there are very few practitioners in the western world who know how to diagnose, let alone treat parasites in humans.

Western Practitioners Don’t Know How to Diagnose or Treat Parasites. Parasites are a third world problem. Many of us in western civilization DO have parasites. The question is, are the parasites bothering us and can our bodies control them? Perhaps, but leaving our bodies with chronic parasitic infections makes them prone to other infections and diseases.

Worms have 100x the level of metals, toxins, bacteria, and viruses that we have in our bodies. It is best to get the worms out whole so the toxins aren’t released in the body. Mebendazole is great medication to use for parasite protocol.

Parasite symptoms: 
  • Mood disorders
  • Strong cravings for processed and sugary foods
  • Anemia or iron deficiency (worms can create enough blood loss to cause anemia or iron deficiency)
  • Skin ailments such as hives, rashes, weeping eczema, itchy dermatitis, acne, ulcers, sores, lesions, etc.

Parasites differ from other organisms because they live in or on their host and get food from or at the expense of the host. They go through various stages in their development from an egg to a larvae to an adult. Children with Autism have tons of parasites usually due to their overload of toxins and gut problems. We started Jovan on a parasite protocol and its starting help heal a part of him now. As a family, we are also trying to heal that because we have it too - we all do. Most of us have the symptoms above.

Oxalates and Autism

Oxalate and its acid form oxalic acid are organic acids that are primarily from three sources: the diet, from fungus such as Aspergillus, Penicillium, and possibly Candida, and also from human metabolism. 
Oxalates in the urine are much higher in individuals with autism than in those who do not have autism. As a matter of fact, 36% of the children on the autistic spectrum had values higher than 90 mmol/mol creatinine, the value consistent with a diagnosis of genetic hyperoxalurias while none of the children who did not have autism had values this high.  84% of the children on the autistic spectrum had oxalate values outside the normal range. None of the children on the autistic spectrum had elevations on the other organic acids associated with genetic diseases of oxalate metabolism, indicating that oxalates are high due to external sources. 

A brand new diet is being extensively used to treat children with autism and other disorders. Researcher Susan Owens discovered that the use of a diet low in oxalates markedly reduced symptoms in children with autism. For example, a mother with a son with autism reported that he became more focused and calm, that he played better, that he walked better, and had a reduction in leg and feet pain after being on a low oxalate diet. Prior to the low oxalate diet, her child could hardly walk up the stairs. After the diet, he walked up the stairs very easily. Many hundreds of children with autism throughout the world are now being placed on this diet with good results.

​Bentonite Clay

Bentonite clay has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, in many different human cultures and seen in multiple animal species.  It is used both externally, for skin conditions, as well as internally for various reasons. Analysis of the clays being used by both humans and animals show that bentonite clays are preferred for ingestion.  Research on bentonite clay has shown that the benefits of its consumption includes nutrition, detoxification, and use as an antimicrobial and anti-parasitic agent.

​Common Uses for Bentonite Clay
  • Mud Baths – Used at health spas for detoxing through the skin.
  • Foot Baths – Used at health spas for detoxing through the feet.
  • Skin Conditions – Used as a paste for insect stings/bites, burns, eczema, acne, and rashes.
  • Toothpaste – To whiten and re-mineralize teeth
  • Parasite Cleanse – Worms in the body will typically eat what is in the digestive tract.  They also eat dirt and clay, so they are attracted to this substance.  Because they are attracted to this food source, they will be carried out in the excrement of the host.
  • Candida Cleanse – There have been a few studies to show that Bentonite Clay treats yeast very effectively, by immobilizing it through adsorption and carrying it out of the system.
  • Chelation – Studies have shown a considerable capacity for heavy metal absorption, including lead, cadmium, zinc, and mercury, through either epidermal application or oral ingestion.

I find this information fascinating! Since I started doing this for myself I find that it is great way to clean my system on a regular basis. I tried to start slowly by just doing Jovan's feet for maybe ten minutes, then I moved up to 20 minutes in the bath tub with warm water. I did run the clay on him for maybe 5 minutes so it could stick to him and then I ran his bath with warm water and let him soak. I hydrated him with a lot of water which is very important.  I also had magnesium oil which I put on him since clay baths do pull out toxins, but also your natural minerals. It's crucial to get those natural minerals back through the magnesium oil. I do this maybe once/month or once every two months.
