Sometimes we don't realize how busy our lives are. It's not until our day is over and we get to bed late at night that we realize how tired we are. In our own family's situation, if it weren't for my husband I wouldn't be able to do half the things I'm able to do. Jovan has a strict meal schedule along with home schooling and therapies. I sometimes have to work 12-hour days outside the home as a mortgage loan officer and my husband has to be superman at home managing Jovan's ABA therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, and home schooling. Outside activities along with our other son's schooling and activities can be a bit overwhelming.
Keeping a tight schedule and managing Jovan's diet is very important. Jovan's food diet is very strict. My husband is on the ketogenic diet too so he can experience what Jovan might also be experiencing. They don't cheat at all and they maintain the Ketogenic Diet. It can be a very tiresome, and thankfully we see results in Jovan constantly because we are so persistent. Jovan is consistently improving. For example, today Jovan shouted a word that he felt like he could say correctly and he kept on saying it. This means his language is developing. Jovan is doing great with his speech therapist. We will later show some videos to show how much better his speech is getting. Jovan is non verbal and in the past, every time he tried to talk it seemed like he was in pain. Now his words are coming out more easily and he's repeating words. This is great for our family because we are hoping he will have more speech soon and then he can communicate better with us.
